A MUSIC COMPOSITION by Théodore François Joseph Labarre (1805-1870) on a libretto by Ambroise Bétourné (1795-1835), inspired by the Greek Revolution and the tradition of the klephts
and armatoloi, documented in klephtic ballads [cat. no II.8.C.21]. The title page is adorned with a litho- graphed vignette, with a fully armed klepht before his beloved.
