AN INTERESTING PAINTED PORTRAIT, one of a series of four, in oval shape, of prominent figures of the Greek Revolution. According to the family who owns them, they were acquired from an antique shop in Munich in 1935 or 1936, and come from a series of 32 portraits, dating from the period of Otto’s reign.
This one depicts Petros Mavromichalis with the characteristics familiar from other portraits of him.
