THE GAME OF THE GOOSE was a pop- ular educational board game in France; sever- al different versions were produced by different companies and updated to include images of the Greek War.
This example, produced in 1848 by Gangel toy fac- tory in Metz, France, features the figures of Greek fighters in repose, in the centre of the board. In this way, French children became familiar at an early age with the Greek War of Independence.
