IN THE LETTER, TH. KOLOKOTRONIS
asks the chieftains to give a detailed description of the enemy’s movements, recalls the glorious battles in the plain of Argos, in which he took part with Ni- kitas Stamatelopoulos, and encourages them, ad-
vising them to have persistence, magnanimity and bravery, virtues that will lead to the sealing of the Greeks’ freedom: «Be brave! Brothers, for the coun- try and faith; now is the beginning of our endeavour, now we are reborn».

eulogies by Panagiotis Soutsos and Konstantinos Oikonomos from the housee of Oikonomoi and an encomium by Georgios Serouios. It is illustrated with two lithographed images: the general galloping on horseback, shown from behind, and shown on his deathbed, in profile.
