THE YOUNG GREEK, who looks at the view- er face to face courageously, is one alerted fighter, ready to act. For this reason he sharpens his sword, but nit on a random ground but on ancient marbles. The symbolism of this scene wants to pinpoint the
living relationship of the rebelled Greeks of the 19th century with their historic oast.
The painting, unfortunately a creation of an unknown artist, has nice dimensions, colour combinations and is intense in the expression of the portayed person.
