150 BEHOLDING LIBERTY!
At the time when the Greeks were torn apart by civil strife, the Sultan calls for reinforcement the Egyptian forces of Ibrahim Pasha, who is burning down island Kassos and Psara and causes destructions in Crete. In 1825 Ibrahim disembarks in the Peloponnese and loots it. The revolution seems to be coming to an end.
This representation of the defeat of the Greeks on the Frieze is unique. On a black horse, on the left, Ibrahim orders the abduction of women and children who will be used as slaves after the fall of the Peloponnese and Missolonghi.
